Peter Hoyle, formerly Vice President of Engineering with Related Management, today joins the Association for Energy Affordability, Inc. as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). Reporting to AEA’s chief executive, David Hepinstall, he will team with David to provide overall executive leadership and support for all components of AEA’s operations.
Peter brings numerous managerial, construction management, and technical qualifications to his new position at AEA. He holds both a Bachelor of Engineering from Manhattan College School of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology from New York Institute of Technology. He is an AEE-certified Energy Manager (CEM), Energy Procurement Professional (CEP), Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), Demand-Side Management Professional (CDSM), NYS Engineer in-Training (EIT), and is a NYSDOL Certified Asbestos Inspector & Manager Planner and USEPA/NYS Certified Lead-Based Paint Inspector & Risk Assessor.
He has a wealth of real estate experience that will provide insights and tools to help AEA strengthen and extend our relationships with key actors in multifamily housing, both in New York and nationally. Over a period of 28 years at Related Management, Peter’s responsibilities included overseeing millions of dollars’ worth of capital improvements, site assessments for acquisitions, physical & capital need assessments, reviewing utility deregulation impacts, utility procurement for an annual utility budget of $60 million, commissioning & retro-commissioning, energy management initiatives, preparation of repair specifications, construction administration, group purchasing programs, administering environmental & safety regulation compliance for a portfolio of 400 properties consisting of more than 35,000 residential units in nearly 20 states.
Peter’s experience also includes 8 years as a structural engineer with project oversight, procurement management, and field and construction administration experience for forensic studies and repairs of building envelopes.
