WatterSaver
Overview
WatterSaver is a pilot program available to Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) electric customers that optimizes the operation and energy use of electric water heaters to automatically heat water and lower electricity costs, without sacrificing comfort. It is open to all residential (single and multifamily) and small commercial customers with existing electric resistance water heaters and/or compatible heat pump water heaters.
Program Benefits
In addition to potential bill savings associated with shifting electricity use out of peak hours, customers receive a $50 gift card for enrolling in the program. For each month they remain in the program and actively participate in load shifting events, they’ll earn an additional $5. Participation gift cards are paid every three months (up to $15).
