Jan 11 Open House at AEA Chicago Hands-On Training Lab

AEA will hold an Open House at its Chicago Hands-On Lab this Thursday January 11th, to welcome energy professionals and contractors to the facility and showcase upcoming courses. This will be the second in a series of AEA courses, demonstrations, and events for Chicago area contractors and builders who want to strengthen the abilities of their workforce to build projects that meet Passive House, Net Zero, or other high performance building standards.

Register here for this free event.

On December 12th, AEA trainer Steve Marchese demonstrated techniques and materials used to install Passive House windows at the Lab, which is located at 6000 S Central Ave in Chicago.

Proper installation and air sealing of windows is essential to get the full benefit of triple pane passive house windows since window openings are one of the primary locations where air leakage and thermal bridging can occur in a residential or multifamily building.

Steve delivers contractors and installers in various trades working on energy efficiency retrofit and new construction projects. He also performs testing and verification services for projects pursuing passive house certification.
